Wire glass

This is obtained by casting and continuous laminating of molten glass into which a mesh of chrome plated metal wires is inserted. This reinforcement is capable of containing the glass fragments temporarily in the event of breakage or fire and providing limited resistance to break in. It differs from tempered glass, however, in that the formation of the fragments produced can cause personal injury and damage to objects and the risk of being hit by splinters which cannot be held by the mesh exists.
